Solklinge
Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement)
A slender blade that glows with its own golden light when drawn — as though a sunbeam had been hammered into steel. When sheathed it is only a hilt and crossguard; the blade itself manifests only when the wielder wills it to.

Properties
- This item appears to be a longsword hilt. While grasping it, you can use a bonus action to make a blade of pure radiance spring into existence, or to make the blade disappear.
- While the blade exists, the sun blade is a magic longsword with the finesse property.
- If you are proficient with shortswords or longswords, you are proficient with the sun blade.
- You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.
- Hits deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage. Against creatures of the undead type, this extra damage increases to 2d8 radiant.
- The blade sheds bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet. The light is sunlight. While the blade persists, you can use an action to expand or reduce its radius of bright and dim light by 5 feet each, to a maximum of 30 feet each or a minimum of 10 feet each.
Description
Seraphina keeps the Sun Blade in her wagon in Gyldenholt. She lent it to Vori in session 12 when he needed to help the rest of the party escape Ravnsklippe. The blade is borrowed, not given — it must be returned.
Its radiant damage proved unusually effective against the guards at Ravnsklippe, though no one in the party understood why at the time.
